Would you say this applies to all LCD technology?
Of course not, only 8 bit panels, or 8 bit limited
panels. Though it would still be a waste to videocard dim a nice
high-bit Eizo, just not as much of a waste.
I think this is a missunderstanding.
Roger writes about tools helping the user to reduce the
Brightness on the display buttons while measuring and giving the user
the actual bLuminancee in cd/qm.
Toby writes about reducing the brightness by Software.
