In practice, I wonder what us is ISO-2846? Since ink manufacturers
have to
make two formulations anyway: one to demonstrate ISO-2846 conformance
and a
second to demonstrate some other standard conformance.
2846 is about the color and transparency of the ink. The other specs
you refer to (SWOP, GRACoL, etc.) are about printing performance. The
printer in Denver with a brand new MAN Roland 300 series probably needs
a different ink than the printer in Miami running a Heidelberg
SpeedMaster, with 100 million impressions on it, to demonstrate GRACoL
conformance.
