I do BPC and WPC (which is as important if not more!) by altering the
measurements in Excel, prior to building the profile. Works like a
charm.
Of course this is a quick hack, only scaling the L* linearly; I'd like
to know if there's more to it, such as using a non-linear L* scaling
(applying a gamma for example) or making any changes to saturation...
but have not found any references on this topic.
However some vendors (as for example Left Dakota of Linkolator fame)
claim superiority of their BPC algorithm over others; which would
imply there's more to it than just lightness scaling.
