Paraffin oil is basically mineral oil...the stuff you can buy at any
drug store as a laxative... should you be so inclined. "Kami" fluid is
a solvent based mixture (mineral spirits/hexane/naphtha). Does the same
as mineral oil as far as scanning is concerned (anti-newton ring, fills
scratches, reduces dust), but cleans up much more readily. Its non-photo
reactive, so it's safe to use on transparencies. Don't use it as a
laxative though. ;-)
