And yet the way in which profiles for digital camera are created, by and large treats them as such devices. It assumes that the gamut of a target matches the scenes we will capture. It assumes the illuminant is fixed. Both assumptions make sense for scanners but not cameras. Then, as the various posts have discussed, we have the RAW converter. There needs to be a better way to define the camera’s capture.
