not to muddy the waters but to ask for clarification on a point,
How does ACR differ from profiles really? My understanding is that ACR uses a couple of profiles and allows the user to effectively blend their effect in a balance that is pleasing to them. In performing the RAW conversion there are other mechanisms in play as well I'm sure. But isn't it still defining the gamut of the incoming image using a pair of profile-like data-sets?
