Would be nice. I myself could profit from that kind of fine-tuned guided
instruction. But that would require time and motivation on the part of those
in the know to spread their knowledge in more than cursory fashion.
So, inevitably, in the absence of that detailed, proven and specific
knowledge, hearsay takes the place of informed opinion.
Which is another way to say that those of us fortunate enough to have
regular access to industry sources maintain a privileged position. And a
built-in source of income too, from writing articles and giving lectures,
and such. If I may say so, that is both fair (because we should all be able
to make a living) and unfair (because there are times when the fog of
contradictory information is enough to make one's brain explode -- remember
Cronenberg's "Scanners"? Yeah, a bit like that...).
