you haven't noted which i1 revision you use.

Yes and no. With Rev. A and B you'll experience this effect, while
Revision D will show nearly no difference. I have been told that there
would be a document on the X-Rite homepage which describes that the i1
would be falsly acclaimed to give monitor measurements which vary with
the measurement angle. I have not found that document, any pointers
are highly appreciated. But we tested Rev. A, B and D and found that
Rev. D is much improved in this regard.
The colorimeters will also show _some_ variation, but in practical use
that's not important IMO, because normally you'll hang down the EyeOne
Display, DTP94 or whatever you use. :-)
