I would like also to remind the readers of the list that there was a
series
of posts, a year or so ago, by users of the highly respected HP
Dreamcolor
LX2480 (going from memory?) that reported objectionable red color shift
towards the RHS of the monitor, a behaviour I remember witnessing on
the eval
unit I had the chance to work on. This may not be the case with
currently
shipping Dreamcolor units anymore? I confess I have not heard about it.
Dear Roger
I well remember the grief a number of members here and on other lists
reported and for these people it was an expensive and frustrating
experience. It completely put me off the purchase of an HP Dreamcolor
screen.
Still, your report is quite saddening to hear, Richard. It will remain
to be
seen what other reviewers of the PA271 are seeing on their units. Could
it
be that the ColorComp circuit. Somehow, isn't doing its work properly?
Or
that, for some reason, that it's not compensating the monitor
uniformity as
it's supposed to be doing? Or that it is not activated?
I have no idea why this blotchy colour is occurring. Both computers it
has been run on show the same problem in the same place and they use
different OS and different graphics cards. It is also worth noting
that both computers ran an Eizo 243W screen giving a perfectly neutral
display apart from a small area at bottom left. This leaves me in no
doubt that it is the monitor that is at fault. Uneven colour problems
were also seen in three 3090 SpectraViews, all returned.
Could you describe how big of a color shift you are seeing?
Well of course this is very difficult with patches of uneven colour but
as a rough guide it took a shift from 236-229 R and from 221-227 RGB to
give the impression of balancing out one selected blotch.
Sorry not to be more accurate.
Kind regards
Richard
Best / Roger
