Walker, one thing I did not adequately explain at the time... CMYK build
errors were not consistent. Some that failed were identical to many that
did not built at the highest quality and bit depth settings. Same patch
sets, chart builds, etc., just different paper. I never nailed it down.
Of course it was inevitable that your first experiment invoked the error
<G>.
Also, I agree with the positions here that suggest optimizations may be
avoided with a good initial build for RGB or CMYK, but for CMYKOG it was
absolutely required to get improperly placed O and G ink out of the
neutral axis... some problems still remain there, but I guess very few
are doing CMYKOG to create any racket. But it does hint at the slightest
possibility of build tradeoffs in other modes that optimization may
improve a hair... particularly for the work you are doing.

Were you using large color tables or medium? I was using16bit/large and optim. was throwing me an error and failing. May be an OS X 10.6 thing. I can file a bug report with xrite.

It doesn't allow optimization on 16bit/High Quality profiles.
Hmmm.....not sure if that's right...I've optimized a few profiles and I know that I always use 16bit "Optimize Quality" settings. Were these RGB or CMYK profiles? (I'm using CMYK profiles).
