Andrew is correct. I'm coming from eye1 Match. Sorry I wasn't more
explicit, but my reference to Rosetta should have given it away. There
is a way to run Match using Parallels, but I'm not sure it's worth the
trouble.
I suspect the i1 Profiler solution is only free if you're upgrading from
a previous/recent version. Not my case.
I think I will try the free ArgyllCMS solution first before spending
more money, especially in light of comments to the effect of "don't
bother calibrating" a laptop. That dispcalGUI looks pretty sweet. Not
expecting miracles, but am hoping for improvement in color balance, and
probably less help with contrast. If I find something of interest, I'll
report back.
I have older versions of BasICColor and ColorEyes, along with some
others -- all are probably too old to upgrade now, and besides those
upgrades are certainly not free. Some of the colorimeters I have likely
came with those pieces of software (or, at the same time) -- I don't
feel like disturbing the dust to read the names. All available to the
Smithsonian if they're interested...
Thanks to everyone who responded -- your input is greatly appreciated.
Armand
