This was a minor miracle indeed! I installed the latest version of
i1Profiler under OS X Mavericks, and it immediately allowed me to
profile my new MacBook Pro retina display using my old i1 Pro
instrument, at no cost! i1Profiler seemed to automatically pull my old
registration info (for i1 Match) from the X-Rite website based on
instrument SN. Very smooth process. I did also have to install the XRD
package from the X-Rite website. Positioning the instrument in the
center of the screen was a very slight challenge -- the USB cord tends
to hit the keyboard. (I also discovered in the process that Apple now
makes the user Library folder "invisible" but presumably everyone else
already knew that.)
Thank you X-Rite, and also David et al. for pointing me in this direction.
