This was on slashdot (or maybe it was macslash) recently. The problem
then was the same as the way it is now. When you fill in your phone
number, you get to a page which tells you they aren't taking online
orders. Then, when you call the number they give, the sales drone has
no idea what you mean and tries to sell you DSL.
If you're like me, you likely won't like this service. They won't let
you run your own network at home, and the IP addresses are
non-routable. So, if you have your own domain and like to test/run web
servers and mail servers, it won't happen through Verizon.

PS I live in Falls Church as far as the city water/sewer folks are
concerned, but in Fairfax County for trash and taxes. I also tried
with a phone number in Arlington (directly across the street from
Verizon's office) and got the same results.
