Title: RE: [Fed-Talk] CAC Reader and G5
There are a couple of command lines you have to execute to "turn on" the cac software.
Sorry, I cant for the life of me remember what those commands are - but if you search Apple Support for FSCP or federal smart card package, the PDF you find will have the command.

Subject: [Fed-Talk] CAC Reader and G5
Troops,
I recently purchased two 2.5 Ghz G-5 units. After using the G-5 transfer setup, both machines are working fine (except for Virtual PC 6 of course).
However, in the past week I attempted to verify my CAC setup. I was unsuccessful. I transferred the same card reader that works in the G-4 to the G-5. I then loaded the Smart Card application, but nothing happens when I insert a card. The system profiler says the reader is there and correctly identifies it, but it does not respond at all when I insert a card (I borrowed other individual's cards as well to test).
When I return the reader to the G-4, the reader works fine with the Smart Card application as before and immediately recognizes the card and asks for a password, then reads the card. Both the G-4's and the G-5's are using OS 10.3.7.
Help!
John
