Title: RE: Netscape / Mozilla AKO Log-on Anomaly
Perhaps related: our base level DOIM recently required a configuration change (pupportedly authentication and security) on the local DCs.
This change affected our ability to access some network resources from both Windows and Mac boxes.
I bring this up b/c the error seems to be similar, in that from windows, known good UID/PWs were repeatedly rejected with authentication failures, then "error 5: access denied"
On the Macs, we repeatedly rec'd the error:
"The login credentials supplied are incorrect. Make sure your username and domain are correct, then type your password again"
We were not made aware of the details of the change, just that it had occurred. On notification of the authentication issues, they (apparently) tweaked the change, as 24 hours later, we have access again (from both platforms)

Log on to AKO was not a problem an hour ago with Mozilla 1.7.1. After a couple of minutes, it re-prompted me for username and password and has been painfully slow ever since. Now as I write this it again asked for Username & PW and is now rejecting them. When I quit Mozilla and go back to the login page, there is a banner stating "AKO is currently experiencing service interruptions. We are working to restore services as soon as possible.
Please do not call the Help Desk. Additionally, new user registration is currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience."
