Would have liked for you to hand out copies of Mac OS X 10.4...
I heard two complaints:
1) The booth was located "in the middle of nowhere." Since it was at
the end of the escalator that I used, I didn't think so, but apparently
for those who walked from downtown DC, it was at the farthest end of the
universe.
2) There were no Windows or Linux machines. Several people commented
that they wanted to sit down at a Windows or Linux box (or stand up, in
the case of the Apple "wall") and test interconnectivity with Mac OS X.
Apple says it works, but they are skeptics.
As for people: I realize you have a delicate balance when you are in
pre-release, but several of the people staffing the booth seemed to know
less about Tiger than I did. I had specific questions, and they didn't
have answers. Their solution -- let me drive the box and find my answers
-- worked -- for me. But it certainly would have been nice to have
someone more familiar with Mac OS X 10.4 Server showing the server, Mac
OS X 10.4 vanilla showing the vanilla version, etc.
For my part: I have no complaints -- except I wanted a disc with Mac
OS X 10.4 and didn't get one. Or three. Or thirty...

For those that came by the Apple booth at FOSE - what did you think?
Did we have the right products and people there? Was there anything
that you thought should have been there that was not? Anything you
especially liked?
