I agree. The STIG's are becoming the default OS Security Guideline.
All I can recommend to my Navy customers is to use the current OSX
STIG as "security hints" until DISA updates it to 10.4. Then it can
become a guideline again.

We need STIGs for Mac OS X 10.3 and 10.4 "yesterday". The DISA STIG
available from several locations covers only 10.2. The NSA Security
Configuration Guide covers 10.3
<http://www.nsa.gov/snac/os/applemac/I331-009R-2004.pdf>, and is a
useful
set of step-by-step instructions, but isn't in STIG format.
Anything available in STIG format for 10.3 and 10.4? I'm not
prepared to
accept the DISA STIG wholesale without modification and testing,
since 10.3
and 10.4 are very significant updates.
