This seems like it would be easier to do with a shell script. You
can prompt for all the directories and store the values to feed to
mysqldump.
I can do it all with Bash, but users freak out at the thought of a
terminal window... I could use RB but it takes a LOT of work to do
MySQL commands through RB.
If you show them how it prompts them, they won't freak, unless you're
working with people who just can't handle anything at all on the
CLI. There are also GUI wrappers for scripts. I downloaded one I
found on VersionTracker, but I don't remember what it was since I
never got around to using it.
