Title: I want to be able to do THIS!
I was reading the Apple “SWITCH” tab on their website and noticed the following post. This is exactly what I want to do, but listening to the discussions here, it sounds like it is a) disallowed for DOD users to use their macs to log in to Active Directory Servers and b) not reliable/very difficult to setup.
How can I:
- Use MS Entourage to check my local DOIM Exchange server e-mail account
- login to our local active directory at work and see network drives (I don’t see a domain server box to login to on my machine, just my login profile on my local machine)
This from apple:
As a database engineer who is remotely connected via VPN to my office, I am completely amazed by how much my productivity has increased since switching to a Mac. I spend more time working on projects than working on getting software to work on my computer.
Mail works perfectly with the Exchange Server and Panther had no trouble authenticating into the Active Directory. Quite simply, it works in perfect harmony with each and every “Windows-only” aspect of our network.
Thanks
