Yea, I've read them all, the problem is that there is no way to support a
fair number of the preferences at a granular level. OK, here is an example
... Let's say that I have OD deployed and now I want to set the default
screen saver and idle time for all of my users. I can not open WGM and
select a group or even a user and click on "Preferences", choose system
Preferences and select a System Preference and set the default or a custom
setting for that item. Instead I can only select which ones to show or not
to show. IMHO, I think that all of these settings should be manageable from
within WGM. And to make them all available from either a computer or user
account.
So, one could then argue that you can write a login script to do all of
this. Well, that would be great but login scripts are a computer managed
item only. And there is no good way to integrate them in to the directory.
