Has anyone noticed that Panther generated PDF (at least from Word)

PStill and Acrobat distilled (or re-distilled) files seem to have
no such issues. I assume this is probably the way fonts are
included (or not included) but OSX does not allow you to control
that. I don't know what version of IRIX or what software is
installed on it. The problem is that our management insists that
the PDF should be "universally readable". They work on a Mac and
they work on a PC but IRIX, with whatever PDF viewer they use
displays them with black dots where the fonts should be.
Mark,
Just to be sure it was clear....
MS Office on Mac OS X provides its own "PDFMaker" process which does
not utilize those services directly in the OS.
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office/Startup/Word/PDFMaker.dot
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/PDFMakerLib
Hope this helps.
