Doug,
In general, AKO has worked no better and no worse for me under Tiger
Safari than under Panther Safari. I have had two login problems,
however. The first (also present under Panther) is that after exiting
AKO, I need to completely quit and restart Safari before I can log in
again, otherwise it won't recognize my password. The second involved
being prompted to verify the certificate during every login, either
through Safari or through Mail. The second problem was an issue with
my keychain under Tiger - X509 Anchors was showing up correctly, but
X509 Certificates was not in the keychain list in the upper left of
the Keychain Access window. Choosing Keychain List from the Edit menu
showed X509 Certificates, but I had to check the "Shared" box, save,
then uncheck it and save again to get it to show up in the main
window keychain list. Since I did this, the certificate has been
automatically recognized every time.
As far as the help desk response is concerned, AKO doesn't officially
support anything except Windows IE 5.5+, but I'll see if we can help
make their response a little more useful since there's a big
difference between "doesn't support 10.4" and "doesn't work in 10.4".
Sincerely,
David Ravetti

I went to login to AKO (Army Knowledge Online) today and it
wouldn't let me
in. I even changed my password to ensure I was using the correct
one, and it
still wouldn't let me in. I called the help desk and found out the AKO
portal does not support OSX 10.4. Has anyone else heard this, or
figured out
a way to login to AKO on a 10.4 machine?
