I cannot find anything about similar "whole disk encryption" for *nix.
As others have pointed out, it's probably not even necessary from an OSX
technical point of view since user data is (or should be) in ~/ and thus
could be encrypted by FV, PGP, or other well conceived cryptware.
But I also assume govt purchasers would not see the distinction and will
still require full disk encryption. Maybe EFI will allow that? I have no
idea.
