Systems Administrator Reference #: 06-143 Open Date: 10/17/2006 Location: Hampton, VA Status: Open Job Description: Support, maintain and expand end-user solutions and infrastructure, focusing on the Mac OS X platform. The ideal candidate possesses a strong customer service ethic, has top-notch people skills, and displays creativity in problem solving situations. Support and assist in the deployment and expansion of systems, with particular emphasis on using Apple technologies such as Mac OS X Server, NetBoot and Apple Remote Desktop. Maintain and improve user support systems, including build and test environments. Follow rigorous IT security practices. Participate in and support a team of technical experts and instructors. Create documentation for IT staff and end users explaining the use of systems. Instruct end users and other IT staff in the effective use of solutions. Deliver thoughtfully designed work which maximizes ease of use across a variety of audiences. Required Qualifications: + Minimum 3 years in a professional environment with much of the past two years in a technical support capacity
+ System administration experience, primarily in Unix systems such as Mac OS X, Solaris, Linux
+ Experience in coding and scripting: shell, perl, php
+ Strong organizational skills: ability to organize and complete multiple projects of varying lengths
+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills
+ Ability to explain technical concepts in clear, non-technical language
+ Ability to obtain certification on systems through Brain bench testing Desired Qualifications: + Experience in basic web development technologies: HTML, CSS, DHTML; _javascript_
+ Experience working in a strong IT security environment
