Holman's can perform MacBook/Pro, iMac or mini hardware
disablement's including any combination of the following: Airport
(WiFi); Bluetooth; iSight camera; IR; microphone (disablement of
microphone will also disable internal speakers in the MacBook/
MacBook Pro's). These are non-destructive hardware disablement's
and can be reversed by a knowledgeable service technician if
needed. We also include a tamper evident seal across one of the
screws that must be removed to get into the case as well as
documentation of disabled technologies, the computer's serial
number and the serial number of the tamper evident seal.
If service is required on a machine with disabled technologies,
that may need to be performed by Holman's. Apple requires that
their service departments return serviced items in a fully
functional state. Holman's has an Apple authorized exception to
this but most other Apple service centers would not return the
computer with features in a disabled state.
Please contact me offline for pricing or if you have any other
questions.

Its a little more complicated than just taking to an authorized
Apple reseller. Once this service is done, it can't be sent back
to Apple at this time for any other repair as this is not a repair
that more than a handful of Service providers are doing for us.
We have been referring all govt customers to Holmans at this
time. HOlmans has a process and notification put in the box when
this service has been done so the customer is aware of the process
for any future repairs

Another solution is to take the computer to an Apple Authorized
service
provider, like an Apple Retail Store, and ask them to perform the
work while
documenting it in Apple's repair tracking system. This should not
void your
warranty since it's being performed by an authorized service
provider.
At one Apple Retail Store, we were charged $85 per machine to
physically
disconnect the iSight camera in some MacBook Pro's that we recently
purchased from a different vendor. They were very accommodating
to this
request, and the charge seemed reasonable.

What are people doing with Apple systems that ship with cameras
in no-camera environments? There are some ways that managed

We do have a process through one of our resellers to physically
disable the camera, mic, infrared, Bluetooth, and Airport. It can
be done as part of a purchase or done after purchase by shipping
the machines to them or they will send out a team to
you._______________________________________________
