- Thread-topic: PC Card Smartcard Reader help needed
All,
I just received an ActivCard PC Smartcard reader to use in a PowerBook
G4 running 10.4.6 with all the latest security updates. The p/n on the back
of the reader is ZFG-9812-AC. I searched the web but couldn't find any
specifics about this model. I was hoping it was a repackaged SCR-243, but
now I don't think it is. I made the changes recommended by Shawn a few
posts ago,
$ sudo mv /usr/libexec/SmartCardServices/drivers/CCIDClassDriver.bundle
~/Desktop
That didn't seem to make any difference, except the ActivCard USB Reader
v2.0 stopped working (but I expected that).
I then looked in the System Profiler and saw that this card has the same
ProductID and VendorID as the one Don mentioned below, so I made the
modifications he specified. Unfortunately I still can¹t get it to work. If
I monitor ³pcscd² from Activity Monitor, and it runs for about 1.5 minutes
before it terminates.
Based on Shawn's post, since I am using 10.4.6, I shouldn't need to make
any other changes, right? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If
I can get it to work, then the USB Reader would be one less thing I have to
carry around.
Thanks,
Bob Hopkins
