Title: AFRL/SN Mac OS X Machines
Barry:
In SN we have Macs (approximately 25, and new ones to be ordered) that are “legal”, on the network, getting e-mail through Entourage, have CAC working with e-mail and websites. The are classified here as a flavor of *NIX/Scientific Machines. We, of course, are preparing for UCI also, and never has anyone mentioned that any machine not running Windows is not “certified”. Our copy of Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac is through the AF License. Sounds like someone(s)) in VA is totally confused. Our Ultimate Mac/Unix/Linux admin has all the appropriate security paper done, I am asked occasionally to make sure that security patches have been applied when he gets his bulletins from the AF.
Let me know off-list what would help...
Mark
