I agree with the suggestion of using
Parallels. I have just completed (?) an implementation of Parallels on my
MacPro. Have CAC-login, acknowledgement from the Active Directory and can see
our office share-drive, access to DTS, access to Outlook and our office
share-drive via VPN when off the LAN. It took some intervention at DOIM level,
they needed to register the (virtual) second MAC number, then needed to do some
work-around to disambiguate the virtual from the real machines.
A few puzzles remain, like why doesn’t
the “expandable” virtual hard drive expand when it runs out of
space, why a second virtual hard drive is not noticed by Windows, …
But in general this is a FAR FAR better
solution than using a Windows machine for email and doing much USB thumb-drive
transfer back and forth to my Mac.

and CAC
Have you tried instead to use
"Parallels", instead Office 2003 with outlook? This the
other work around.

Subject: [Fed-Talk] Mac Pro and
CAC
I’m trying to get CAC capabilities on a MacPro but
am having several issues, the last of which is a real teaser. I’m
using Entourage with known good certificates and Root Authority Certs. However,
when I send a Digitally Signed message I receive an error and the message
won’t send. The logs say “kernel[0]: (61: coreservicesd)tfp:
failed on 0:” Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to get beyond
this problem?
