Apple has been silent not only here - but on its own discussion
boards and other places where this has been reported. And the fix
did not come from Apple either.
If you call Applecare, the first people you get do not know the
answers to these types of problems, and there is a long wait to get
to them and then a long wait to get to the technical people. And it
would have been very nice if I had the time to sit on hold to get to
AppleCare - we have data coming in almost continuously, and it was
all I could do to find kludges to keep the transfers working on 2
separate servers - we also lost a lot of data so extra effort had to
be expended to recover the lost data.
I do not consider this acceptable. FTP is a major service and
component of an operational machine. To break that and then say
nothing is not the way to keep or win customers.
