FYI
Begin forwarded message:
FastPak for Java, Update 3 is now available for OS X.
Update 3 includes the following:
The Signed Jar Loader: This is an application that can be used to
verify an application in a signed jar format against it's public
certificate. This application can work under FastPak as a loadable
module or as a stand alone application. The application checks the
signatures of the signed file and if they verify, it launches the
application, otherwise it refuses to do so. Applications can be
stored on a local directory or a remote web server.
Native Application Launcher: This is a FastPak module that allows
FastPak to launch native applications on the hosting platform. This
may be done locally by a user or remotely via FastPak's controller
thread.
Daemon Mode Launcher: This allows a user to launch numerous
applications in FastPak's daemon mode and, after a user defined
period of time, shut down the controller thread and put FastPak in
a state where the kernel terminates when the last application ends.
This eliminates the need for FastPak to be brought down by an
external program accessing the controller thread.
Details on all three of these may be obtained from the downloads
section of our web site under the "Documentation" setting. The name
of the document is "FastPak for Java, Using Update 3 Tools."
