I'm disappointed to find no FTP client on my new Macbook Pro.
Seems the only way to get one is to purchase one but with all of
the shareware out there is there one that is secure enough to use
to the standards of the Government (but not on a government
machine, just on one where files may get transferred from time to
time)? Googling showed me that there is a way to get Finder to
mount FTPs so you can download, but I need upload capability too.
You *should* be using ssh/scp. FTP is neither firewall-friendly or
secure.
Remember that sftp /is/ ssh under the hood. Apple includes ftp, sftp,
and scp on the system. Kerberized FTP is secure, but very few people
use it.
I like Fugu if I want a GUI to use, but its OSS roots may present an
issue for some on this list.
