I need to know if logging of account lockout (per NISPOM 8-602(1)(f)) is
functional on 10.4.x on Intel with the Intel-port of the Common Criteria
Tool. We are trying to get DSS buyoff for some units, and we are being
shot down. DSS claims that there are other Macs which are certified,
and our DSS rep believes Mac OS does log lockouts, but when we
investigate, we cannot find any record of the lockout in any log on the
system. We are running 10.4.10. If we can get a statement from an
Apple person that "NISPOM 8-602(1)(f) is not met by 10.4.x with Common
Criteria Tool installed" or similar, then we might get an "operating
system limitation" waiver. Otherwise, perhaps someone can tell us where
the required lockout log exists, or what can be done to cause it to
exist. If neither option is available, then we will not be allowed to
use the units in our environment.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
R,
PT
