Fantastic!
Does it matter where I put the JAVA file to install it?
Do I need to be root to run it?

Indeed it runs fine on Macs. No need to know Java. Just launch it
and it runs:
java -cp bsm20030428.jar bsmGUI

There is a Solaris tool (bsmGUI) written in JAVA for reporting the

I've asked the author if it runs on OS X and he didn't know (he
works for Sun) but didn't think there would be any reason it
shouldn't work. I'm guessing that it wouldn't be too difficult to
modify to run on the Mac and package it up but I don't know JAVA.
The output of the program looks exactly like what we would want to
report on and the demo make it look fairly easy to use.
