This issue is being tracked in bugzilla, so help is on the way - maybe.
For now you can use a slightly-annoying work-around:
Open Preferences -> Advanced (tab) -> Encryption (tab) and choose "Ask
me every time" under, "When a web site requires a certificate:"
This will make a certificate selection dialog pop up for each connection
to the server. That sounds like a lot, but since Firefox re-uses HTTP
connections it's typically only once or twice.
Very respectfully,

We¹ve had our Firefox 2.0 installations cac-enabled for several months now
but suddenly with the auto-updated firefox 2.0.0.1 version, cac-enabled
browsing no longer functions. I¹ve googled error messages Œtil I couldn¹t
stand it any longer but still, I can¹t make it work. Does anyone have the
key to make this version function?
