I want to semi-automate downloading (daily) 50 or so files from a
web site
that is https, CAC restricted, and requires a login and password.
One option
I tried uses Automator and Safari on OS 10.4.10 to create a
workflow . On
some test sites - internal to my agency - this works fine. However,
when I
try the same workflow on the site containing the files I want, I
get an
AppleScript error that suggests I have a name or a certificate
error, but I
have the correct name and I believe I have the correct certificate
in the
Keychain (I can send the text of the error if that helps). The
error message
also suggests II change some options on the script command line,
but I don't
know how to edit Automator actions - or even how to find the source
code for
Automator actions.
I also tried using wget from OS 10 but have not been able to get
the syntax
correct. How do I know that I am using the correct cert file if the
syntax
is correct?
I have used CocoaWget with some success in the past:
http://en.cocoawget.nobody.jp/
"About CocoaWget
CocoaWget is a front-end application for GNU wget.
You can use it to download entire websites or parts of websites for
offline viewing.
wget is included in CocoaWget, so you do not need to prepare wget."
Hope this helps,
Charles
