Has anyone been able to get Mailman to work on OS X Server without
a butt load of problems?
I've rebuilt an OS X Server 10.4.9 three times tonight and am
constantly having problems with the OS X implementation of
MailMan.... using the OS X Server Admin GUI it looks like it is
working (creating a list), but then it disappears... there is also
a (superior) way of managing mailman lists, and that is through the
web... however, it seems as though the OS X installation does not
work well with the Mailman web based tools...
Now through OS X Server Admin, Mailman has two lists...
"Mailman" (default and required), and one more that I created (lr-
announce)... they seem to be working ok.. however, I cannot add any
more lists! If I add one through OS X Server Admin tools, it
appears to create, however, if you exit and return, the list is
deleted immediately.
If I try to add it through the web interface, I constantly get
"Error: Invalid Virtual Host". Any ideas? This is getting to be a
real pain in the ass for something that takes 5 minutes to set up
on a linux box.
any help appreciated,
1. Yes, I have several Mac OS X Server systems, up t and including
10.4.9, hosting numerous mailman lists. We use both the Server Admin
GUI and the mailman web interface, but primarily the mailman
interface. Minus the Server Admin GUI, mailman works just like
mailman should. Have you tried looking in mailman's docs or googling
for that error? Are you sure you have ALL the DNS and such configured
properly for your server?
2. This is more appropriate for the Mac OS X Server list: http://
