I got this from one of our NIH customers. Anyone want to take a whack at why the three points are not 100% valid?

Apple iPhones—Latest news Currently, Apple iPhones are NOT allowed to connect to NIH resources (including email and the NIH network) and are not being supported by the NIH Help Desk. Though these phones demonstrate innovative technologies, there are several reasons why they can not be supported: 1. Non-compliance with NIH handheld policy 2. No centralized management (Password policies can not be applied, device data cannot be wiped if lost or stolen) 3. No enterprise connectivity (E-mail, contacts, calendar) While there is a chance this might change in the future, as of right now please do not use an iPhone to access NIH resources. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding! CIT Communications Office |
