My employer is also refusing to support iPhone because of this
security limitation.
While I think the iPhone is incredibly cool, and I eagerly await the
SDK early next year, I tend to agree with this security concern. cell
phones and iPods are regularly stolen or loss (I personally have had
an iPod stolen and lost a phone). Recently there was a report stating
that in the UK each year 850,000 cell phones were lost in toilets,
810,000 were left at bars, and 315,000 were left in cabs.
So... if you are going to have sensitive business information on your
phone, it would be good if the business could protect it should you
have a toilet or bar incident with your phone.
