On Feb 29, 2008, at 9:52 AM The Army Golden Master will include Thursby's ADmitMac for CAC, which from reading this list I gather solves CAC problems with Leopard.
Currently, I'm using an Omnikey CM 3121 and have no problems with Leopard reading my Gemalto Access 64KV2 CAC or my wife's new Oberthur CAC.
This is exactly why I stated that folks need to be careful with sweeping comments about readers/cards not working on Mac OS X. It can easily confuse some and be completely misleading to others.
Since you are using the OMNIKey CM 3121 reader, you *should not* have any problems with any of the Smart Cards -- older ones that are T=0 "Byte Transfer" or the newer ones that are T=1 "Block Transfer". The OMNIKey CM 3121 Reader works jsut fine with the currently shipping CCIDClassDriver.
I should let Paul Nelson clarify for everyone, but I will chime in here and he can confirm: ADmitMac for CAC uses its own Tokend and not the one included in the OS (CAC.tokend. The current specific Card/Reader issue noted is NOT overcome by the ADmitMac for CAC software because it is not a tokend issue at all. The current issue is between the CCIDClass Driver negotiation via pcscd with the reader and the card. I do believe that Paul was working with some folks to provide an interim CCIDClassDriver which would address the issue, but this was not an ADmitMac for CAC feature -- rather Paul coming to the rescue of customers until Apple addressed this with an update.
