It seems there are a lot of problems using a CAC with Leopard.
My patch is ONLY intended to get the Oberthur card to be recognized when you
use SOME USB readers like the SCR331.
If your CAC appears when you launch Keychain Access, you DON'T need my
patch. Remember to click the little button in the lower left corner of the
Keychain Access window to show all keychains.
If you see this error in your system log, you might want to try my patch:
Protocol type of card (T=1) not supported by this driver for this type of
reader (TPDU)
If you don't see this error, then my patch will probably not work for you.
Also, the patch only supports Intel. If Apple still hasn't fixed this in
10.5.2, I might look at updating the patch.
Also, if this problem really bugs you, why not just buy yourself an OMNIKEY
CardMan 3121? They cost about $30. I love mine - it has the heavy weighted
base AND works fine with the Oberthur card. You might have to skip the beer
an pizza for a week or two...
Visit: http:////www.scbsolutions.com ($30.95)
Or http://www.smartcardsource.com/readers1.htm ($27.56)
I've used scbsolutions.com and have no complaints.
