I actually got the CoolKey binary working very well with Firefox on
Leopard. Unfortunately, I was issued a new Oberthur v5.2 CAC last week
and everything is non-functional again. I guess I'll have give a
separate USB CCID driver a shot unless someone has a suggestion.

I've had problems with it on Leopard as well. The binary posted on the
Coolkey wiki site won't load in Firefox, and my attempts to compile it
on 10.5.2 on both Intel and PowerPC have failed in the configure step.
The later problem I just noticed last week and have brought up on the
Coolkey development list and filed a bug in Red Hat's Bugzilla.
