probably would be better to use the dock connector instead of bluetooth.

Are there any battery-operated bluetooth CAC readers available? If so, maybe Apple would be able to use this interface to handle the reader. It would either have to stay relatively close to the iPhone but not necessarily directly connected. Adding the software to read the cards shouldn't be that big of a deal.
