This looks like a completely different problem that the T=1 issue. Your Oberthur card and mine must be different in some way. The Army may not have this combination of reader and card. I think they are using the SCR331 readers mostly, but have a patch for the T=1 issue.
If you have an SCR331 reader and want to try my T=1 patch, let me know – I’ll send it to you.

no. getting other errors. We have tried with 4 MBP, 1 MB, 1 PowerMac, and 1 MacPro using three different Oberthur CAC and two OmniKey CardMan 3121 readers. We have tried virgin leopard installs and upgrades from 10.4.11. no luck.

Boyd,
I have this configuration, and I have not had a problem. Are you seeing the system log message about T=1?

thanks Shawn. As for the T=1 , the Omnkey 3121 readers also do not work with Oberthur CACs. We have tested this on a variety of Macs with 10.5.x (upgraded and fresh install).
