In dealing with those companies that are not well known for their expertise
in writing Mac software, I find it's not a bad idea to open their installer
packages* prior to installation. This can provide a good idea of what is
about to go where, and what I can rip out afterwards if I don't need it.
* I use Pacifist, but there are others.
