I don't know if you can expect that speed of service from every bug
you put in since I've had some in for many months, but you can bet
it will get fixed faster if it's in the system than if it's not.
It'll also get fixed faster if there are duplicate bugs filed- so
even if you know that someone else has filed one for a bug you're
experiencing, filing one for yourself definitely helps.
I'd like to second this. There are times it takes some "convincing"
especially when it's a matter of security UI. Sometimes when we think
something needs to be shown we're patted on the head like, "oh, those
security guys, what a bunch of geeks".
The address book entry does a keychain search and puts in the first
cert found - live - every time. It needs to be filtered at least for
expired certs.
The S/MIME cert harvesting is a blessing and a curse. Every time an e-
mail message is run though S/MIME the cert is harvested if it isn't
found in a keychain and stored in the default keychain. In Leopard
it's possible to use Keychain Access to:
click the "Certificates" category
sort by expiration
bulk select expired certs
delete them
Then you'll go back and read old mails and repopulate the keychain.
Yrgh. Note our "Hide Expired Certificates" menu item under "View".
We know we want to deal with this issue, but it's got a lot of factors
to fix to ultimately get right.
