Hello Shawn,
In your mail it says a Universal update (PPC / INTEL) for systems
running Mac OS X 10.5.4 or 10.5.5 will be available soon. Will this
include the 64 bit version too? This would fix the problem I'm
having with Java's javax.smartcardio, about which I mailed you
before (in a nutshell, because the Java 6 version supplied by Apple
is 64 bit it expects PCSC.framework to be 64 bit too). I also
submitted a bug report to Apple for this problem (Problem ID 6175605).
Thanks,
Nick
Nick,
The "Smart Card Services Update" (v1.2 was posted today) that I posted
continues to only provide the 32-bit PPC & Intel versions that are
supported by Leopard. I understand the challenge you have related to
Java 6, but Leopard's dependent frameworks will be unable to support a
64-bit of Smart Card Services. Your best bet is to continue to track
your radar and work with DTS on this.
