I agree, but that requires a stateful card. CAC was intentionally
spec'd as a stateless card for very good reasons I can't go into here.
Since you are part of the "working group", I might suggest some
interaction with the Non-Windows OS and middleware vendors be part of
your planning. I know as a representative of Apple I would like to be
part of those discussions.
So noted. I can't guarantee anything, though.
