Dear Fed-Talk Listers,
Here at EPA we recently installed Pointsec Media Encryption software on
all our work PCs. The great thing is that all of our flash drives are
now automatically encrypted. The bad thing is that is does not work
with any Macs. :-( And as the founder of the EPA Mac user group,
that's a bit frustrating to me.
Does anyone know of any software for Mac that can recognize the key used
in Pointsec's software and can decrypt files encrypted with Pointsec?
Pointsec is FIPS compliant, but that does not mean that all
FIPS-compliant Mac software would be able to decrypt those files, does
it?
I've spoken with Choice Point and they inform me a Mac version is on the
way, but they can't give a date. A third-party solution that currently
exists would be ideal.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
Sincerely,
Joe
