I recall Apple assurances that the 10.6 security guide would be out shortly
after release, since there would be so few changes from 10.5.
The "few changes" prediction was wrong. Many third-party security software
vendors have had major delays updating their products for 10.6 due to all
the changes.
Apple also promoted ZFS for 10.6, and that was silently dropped. I'm still
mad about that one.
We often beat up Apple for telling us so little about upcoming OS releases.
Microsoft tells us more, but has been pretty bad at predicting future OS
features -- like all the features dropped from Vista.
Which situation is worse: no news, or incorrect news?
Just wondering.
