- Thread-topic: [Fed-Talk] Where's My Government Discount?!
I will have to say that the iPad is one of the most revolutionary
devices I have used. I see many ways in how this device will change the
way people get their news, email, information, etc...
I was blessed enough to be able to purchase one at AAFES overseas in
Germany - I couldn't believe AAFES had them in stock so quickly - We
usually have to wait months for new technology to get to us!
Unfortunately while we got the iPads - the exchange does not have any
cases or peripherals in stock yet!
I wanted to pass along some information on purchasing Apple products
with NO TAX...
www.powermax.com (they are an outfit in Oregon) I have always had great
success with them - In addition to no sales tax - they are very quick to
ship and sometimes have specials for "no shipping" - they also ship to
APO/FPO addresses...
At this time of course you can't get the iPad from them - but if you are
looking to buy a new or used apple computer or accessory I would suggest
checking them out -
There is also BHphotovideo.com - - Fed Sales Dept -
email@hidden is the person I use (Joe Horowitz) - BH has
everything...

But civilians aren't allowed to buy at AAFES are we?
I did get to touch an Ipad today (and lived to tell of it). ;o) I was
shocked how easy it was to hold high by my head (because of low vision)
and even type that way with my thumbs! (They're opposable, despite what
some co-workers say about me). I was also shocked that Best Buy was
sold out already after just getting a shipment in Monday (30 of each
size). I noticed that some of the apps (like the Contacts) didn't size
to the screen but wasted a lot of real estate. Is there a way to fix
that?
They have them running off of WIFi in the store, too, right? Everything
loaded very q uickly.
